1. The Name "Volvo"
The name "Volvo" means "I roll" in Latin.
2. The Volvo Logo
The Volvo logo is more commonly associated with the male gender but it is also the ancient symbol for iron, which Sweden is famous for.
3. Volvo's Parent Company
Volvo is currently owned by Chinese automaker Geely, which produces everything from pint-sized commuter cars to Rolls-Royce knockoffs.
4. Volvo's Past Owners
Before being sold to Geely in 2008, Volvo used to be part of Ford's now-defunct Premiere Auto Group.

A Volvo engineer invented and patented the first modern 3-point seatbelt in 1958.

Volvo was the first to introduce side airbags, in 1995.

Yea volvo have a good and strong reputation especially on safety and this company is interested to safety more than design and they took a first company for safety car , that's why volvo car is expensive with less specifications.
ReplyDeleteIt is no wonder Volvo is known for safety! Being the company that invented 3-point seat belt, first side airbags, and the first to introduce the blind spot monitoring system. But I am surprised to know that Volvo is owned by the Chinese automaker Geely, I knew that it was owned by Ford. But when we talk about safety we should not forget about Mercedes Benz which was the first company to introduce airbags in cars in 1981 with the S class. Between the years 1992-1998 Mercedes Benz also introduced Electronic Stability Program ESP
